Explanation

  • This apparatus has been constructed to
    demonstrate the ease of motion when a
    cushion of air is formed under an object. When
    the apparatus is initiated, air is blown out of a
    small hole from under the ball. This forms an
    air cushion between the ball and the socket
    within which the ball resides. This way, the ball
    which is very heavy and is normally difficult to
    move, can be rotated easily.
